Sharing is caring

I’ll have to admit that I’ve been in some kind of a love and hate relationship with blogging those last past years :
At first, they were novel, exotic, technically challenging : note that I’m talking about the time when you actually had to code your blog, and not just install WordPress like I kinda just did :)

And then they became … everywhere, it was the emergence of social networking and stop me if I’m talking like an old man, everybody had one, and they all looked the same.
That situation changed when myspace, facebook, twitter united them all under their banner : maybe I can feel like a guru having my own again, or maybe not.

Anyway, this is my third attempt at doing it, and the first one since I started working, which brings me to introduce myself so that you’ll know what kind of person you’re reading :

Name : Guillaume Puyo
Age : 28
Country : France
Job : IT Tech support

You’ll understand that, besides some stuff in my life, I’ll be mainly talking about IT, because I love IT and I love my job, I love learning and I love helping people, feeling that they rely on you, that they trust you, that they know that you’ll take their problem seriously even if it is ridiculous for you is something uncommon in our world, it gives a great sense of meaning to what we do.

Another thing I love in our world is community, I still remember reading the newsgroups when I was a teenager, and seeing some of the legends of the trade helping people they didn’t know over basic problems, just out of kindness, it was incredible, even though they already did before I was even born, discovering it was fantastic, it was like I had just seen Beethoven teaching my little brother how to read Solfège and that’s when I understood the power of community, and with my humble knowledge at the time, I started helping people too on IRC.

That hunger to help people never left me, and today I’d like to take another step in that direction and share a little more, may it be about what TV show I saw last night and is so awesome, or what misery the servers caused me today, whatever work related problem I had to find a workaround for or just simply my feelings about the future, because we’re living in wonderful times and everything is moving so fast .

I guess that if you’re reading this, you’ve found your way to my blog, maybe you’re my first reader (or maybe it’s my mom who googled me ??), in any case, I truthfully hope you’ll get something out of your visit, even one little thing, it will most certainly make my day to know it so don’t hesitate to participate and leave some messages

Thanks for reading this little introduction, I hope you’ll have a good time here.
